A gorgeous week in Gloucestershire making new work with choreographer Hannah Rudd in the great company of the O'Driscoll Collective.
Hannah and I were exploring the re-shaping of identity after physical loss within the body, the impact this has on re-emerging identity, the sense of a before time and an after time, what it means to move back into the world after a life-changing embodied experience. We aimed to develop a language and medium that respectfully held the weight of our theme, not prodding at victimhood, but rather supporting space and agency, and offering a tonic of warmth and hope.
